One of London\u2019s biggest council estates, it was built by the London County Council in the 1940s as a utopian\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/health.hackneysociety.org\/page_id__46_path__0p3p36p.aspx\">\u2018estate of the future\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>70 years on, a brand new private apartment block rises above the old and the estate is once again being turned into a social experiment.
