BBC Archive – London

October 7th, 2012

This weekend I discovered some old films about London on the BBC website, and have been enjoying a look back to the 1950s and 60s.  In case you enjoy this sort of thing too I’m posting this brief article to alert you to the fact that you can be reminded of childhood memories or find out what it looked like in our parents time and how London has changed since.

You can’t download them, believe me I’ve tried, but you can enjoy them online, and if you happen to find out how they can be kept short of videoing the computer screen please drop me a line.  In the meantime I shall just continue to enjoy them so long as they remain on the BBC website.

The BBC for the first time has a clear, defined remit to start building a ‘permanent collection’ of some of its best programmes for free online access by anyone in the UK.
